I'm currently writing a new (and free) X exporter for CShop, and I want the exporter to be able to combine the lightmapping into the main X file using a second set of texture coordinates, rather than generate a new object for it.

The problem is that I don't know what this looks like within the X file format, and I can't find any examples ... but that may because I don't quite know what I'm looking for

I'd appreciate it if someone can email me with an example of a lightmapped object, or post an example here, that I can use to check this out.

Thanks.

Can't be done using the .X format. The files structure does not support multiple sets of UV coordinates for a single mesh. For that you'll have to use something like the .DBO format. That would be why you can't find any examples.

That would be the reason then

It's a bit strange that MS would have overlooked something like this - I wonder if I could use an FVFData chunk?

Oh well, at least I've got the normals & diffuse working, and if I can't get anywhere with FVFData, I guess that I could start again with another format that does support multiple textures.
