Me and my friend have a copy of DB pro and the only differences between our machines is he is on win2k and im in winXP. Even some of the simplest examples do not render correctly on my machine when it works fine on his.

For Example: when creating an animated sprite, both using the same bmp, same db code, my XP machine only shows the bottom half of the sprite when his shows it correctly. Yet it shows just fine when executing his exe. All of my drivers are up to date and all patches have been applied.

Can anyone help me on this because of this we dont see the same output when using the same exact db code.

WinXP here... no problems with any demo/game made with DB/pro. Probaly ur are using it already but... have u DirectX 9.0? WinXP's default DirectX 8.1 has some bad dll's

this sounds like either an unservice pack or pirated version of XP ... i'd suggest you download SP1 (however you should be keeping you OS upto date regardless)

was scared to upgrade to directx 9 but Ill try that. The service pack is up to date and it is not a pirated copy.

Pirate copies can't update, i've seen this first hand - and they've put the same restrictions within .Net

believe it or not that was part of the first way of antipiracy from Microsoft, as ServicePack1 is stuff that can be download as part of the installation if you have an authentic key (not just a valid key)

this sounds like a graphica hardware problem to me now thou, well actually thats all it can really be now hehee
make sure your graphics drivers are upto date - unless you have a GeForce based card, i'm sure someone will tell you which is the best (30.83 i think) personally i use 41.09 + Omega VK133X

Just for information, microsoft sp1 only checks for keys that microsoft has proven to be fake. Therefore valid keys generated by the keycrackers have been used. Not even microsoft can destroy the pirates rush. Did anyone realize that most of these hacking groups come from the Pakastani area. Why is that?

Just my two cents. We should teach against such pratice.

There are 3 sets of Keys

Valid - InValid - Authentic
whilst it is possible to create a key developer for Authentic Keys ... i've not yet been shown one which is 100% accurate, or even within the region of 20%

there was one developed to show the Microsoft team that i was possible, which is completely accurate and was developed by a hacker which does this for a living - i'm pretty sure it was never publically released, but it was very similar to Microsofts own and on an adverage computer can computer an authentic key every 30minutes - and valid keys every few mins. Was capable of processing around 40-50keys a min

was a truely remarkable piece of software, and the maths used to process alot of it - personally i could spend ages trying to get my head around it, but it takes alot more than just knownig a few techniques cause had my dad look over it all ... alot of it was very head scratching to him

this isn't to say it couldn't be in the field, but this guy had the source and worked on it for 3months straight - with a truely remarkable mind. Anyone else who made a cracker which worked even half as well would have to be some sorta genius -- and personally i think anyone that intelligent, why on earth would they not be in a decent job not caring how much things cost?

Thanks you guys for all your replies but unfortunately everyone has gotten off on some hacking windows xp thing which is really not the case.. AS i have said before my copy is real and the service pack and all updates have been applied.. this has nothing to do with the rendering of graphics from my db pro code.. If your going to post a reply please make it relevent to the question at hand.

i've already told you about the nVidia drivers... without more information than the OS's are different we can't really help!

not that problems of this nature are really for us, because the DBS team should be sent the full problem explaination with your system specifications.
