Ok i really want to learn how to model but I cant seem to find a very easy modeling program i have tryed blender, gamespace light, and i have milkshape but have not installed the trial. I need something with good tutorials which i cannot find they all may show you one thing but Models and Animations and UV this...it all confuses me. I have NEVER modeled in my life and i want to learn how to texture things how to MAKE texture, how to APPLY textures. I will be using my models in FPSC also so if anyone has any suggestions please please help me

Hi glyvin101
Silo is an easy to use modeler it does'nt do animation, but if I were
you I'd forget animation and texturing for now and practice modeling only with whatever program you may choose.
Whichever program you pick you are going to have a learning curve but don't give up.

for milkshape try psionic profiles. im not sure of the url but you can google it. If you would like to try wings (www.wings3d.com) you can use this excellet tutorial site. http://www.geocities.com/paulthepuzzles/aardvarks.html
and the wings forums are also a great resource. just a quick search gave this for uvmapping and texturing. http://p212.ezboard.com/fnendowingsmiraifrm3.showMessage?topicID=1229.topic

Go here: http://www.nevercenter.com

Download the demo, then notice the tutorials link at the top of the page. This is Silo. It's very easy to use and learn!

Try it, you'll like it!

its abit less advanced but a good starting point is anim8tor its got loads of tutorials and its free i started with that and then went on to milkshape and then on to 3dsmax. if you start with the basics and find out wht each button does although the button config will be slightly different if you know wht it does then you will find you progress alot faster.

not another 'whats a good 3D program' thread lol....Replying to these is getting a lil tedious for me, I'll say this and bugger off with out any opinions on 3D apps

Download a load of demos for any 3D app you can find, the one you love best is the one best for you, no one can tell you what is best for you

You should try Maya PLE or Gmax there the best free versions of expensive apps that I can think of.

but I doubt he'd/she'd make any use of em as when he/she is off to buy an app, damn can't afford it, its worth trying though, MayaPLE eats up my PC speed, haven't tried GMax, another you could try is SoftImage|XSI mod tool, if your 18 or above I think they still have the character modelling competition, where if you make the best character under their requirements you win a copy of SoftImage|XSI but has to be done only in SoftImage|XSI mod tool
