I have a bunch of songs I bought off iTunes that I want to burn to a CD. Simple, right? Well, not exactly: my cd burner is broken . So, I tried sharing the playlist and burning them off my sister's PC. No dice(You had to "authorize" every song, which wouldn't work). So, I put all the mp3's from my library in my shared docs, and was able to burn them from her PC, but then it wouldn't play in my discman .

Suggestions, anyone?

with the burning software you used did you make an mp3 shell instead of a normal data disc? in order for most mp3s to be played in external devices you need to make this shell around the disc instead of normal data and audio.

My suggestion is don't buy them from iTunes. If cyberspace is located somewhere in the US I would buy them from walmart.com

play em on your PC
use audacity to record em
move the mp3 files over to the other pc
make your CD

it realy annoys me that when you buy something like that online it costs almost as much as the actual thing burnt onto media and in a case with a fancy inlay with a percentage of the profits going to the store you buy it from, PLUS when you get it you can do damn all with it, this assumption that every one is out to "rip the music industry" is b***s.
the only people doing the ripping around here are the people like double standards Sony , "oh yes...please buy our minidisk recorders...just don`t use em to record anything"

to the media industry

don't buy music online, unless you have a very good deal, (like 10c a song) and google for some stuff that is technically illigal, but not really as long as you don't redistribute the song for free...

I would have thought people would have got used to the fact that posts do have to be approved by now...

The complication is that is you have an unapproved thread and starting post, approving the post approves the thread as well, whereas approving just the thread doesn't approve the post.

I would love to see a postless thread, might freak a few people out, or mabey not...

p.s. what happens when you aprove the post, but not the thread?

Its either illegal or its not. There's no in-between. (Unless you live in Russia, where the Berne convention doesn't cover digital recordings, lol)

Exactly--- and it's why I get all my mp3s from AllOfMP3.com --- each song's max price is $0.15. It depends on the length. And you can get it in any imaginable format (MP3, OGG, WMA, etc.). They have just about everything. Fast download speeds, too.

Steal her CD burner while she's not looking.

Or buy a new one? They cost less than an iTunes album! (at least over here anyway)

Yeah, and have the spammers run rampant and the script weenies hack it to bits every week with yet another security hole. Not in a million years. You can run that turd of a forum package on your own site where it doesn't matter one bit whether its up or not.

A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices.

yeah, PHPBB sucks big time

But Rich, could you at least fix the annoying problem with / signs. Pleeeeease?

(If you put a / in your post, for a directory name or something, the / sign will dissapear when you come to edit your post. So your left with C:programfilesatartirollercoastertycoon3 )

That is the Anti-SQL hacking probally, the computer thinks that those / marks were put in to block the ' mark, so it removes them before the edit, that way it can put them back without creating issues. EX. instead of one / you get /////////////////////// (well, you don't edit that many times...)
