Hi all. Wouldn't be asking this here if I'd found anything on google or there'd been a networking guru on the IRC. I've got my wireless network all but completely working at this point. Linksys router connected to ADSL modem, clients are running 2000, XP and 98. It's the 98 machine I'm having trouble with. I've got DHCP and DNS configured so diagnostics report it working fine - I can ping and tracert to www.google.com for example. Furthermore I can transfer files across the network so I know that's working fine. However, when I try to actually access an address or IP address in any browser, I simply get a blank page. (No, they're not configured to work offline )

Any idea why command.com would work fine while nothing else does...? Thanks in advance.

Ian T, I am not real sure about your problem, but when I was setting up my home network, I found out that window's doesn't automatically overide the default connection. This means that if you have a modem, and used dial up, you will have to go into the network settings panel and select the icon with the little check mark (right mouse) and turn off the default connection.

But then again, this was my probelm, not sure if it is yours.

(P.S. look in the windows directory and see if you can find the network data log... a network guru would probally LOVE that!)

Mm, there was a problem with internet connection sharing screwing stuff up on the client machine. Thanks to Thoth on the IRC for walking me through fixing it, he rocks
