Well, if you're gonna produce high quality games, you'll need a pc that can handle the 3d modelling. Look for dual-core Intel P4 cpus (for instance D 820, ect) because they're pretty cheap and offer good performance for their price and since they're dual-core means you can take advantage of multi-threading which can significantly speed up lightmapping, ect that you do. However, if you're willing to spend $, go for an AMD Athlon X2 64, either 4400+ or 4800+, which can handle extreme 3d creation. You also need a good video card for 3d modelling. I'd go for a nVIDIA Quadro, which have optimized drivers for all the major 3d modellers and lots of horsewpower for the others also. Next, equipt yourself with the fastest RAM you can get, and get at least 1 gig of it. For P4s, look for DDR2 711 RAM, and for AMDs, look for DDR400 with the lowest timings, which OCZ usually has.
