I posted this in the 2d section, but after getting confirmation that I can post a PB game in the showcase I figured its better fit here.

some of you may have wondered if PlayBasic is powerful enough to make a decent quality game. well, I entered into the 72 hour programming compo with the language to find out for myself and it turned out to be a success.

the team:
Bugboy: programming
Calypson: programming, art
Moose: music, sfx

well the compo is over....our team was doing very well near the begginning, but then everything went wrong during the last 12 hours so things didn't turn out as we had hoped. We wanted the game to go further, but do to time restrictions, we couldn't. but other than that our game turned out pretty good. We will continue to work on this project and give you guys a better version.

Looks cool, downloading now.

edit- Cool game. I like the secret walls and stuff reminds me of some of the old platformers. I managed to beat it on my first go yay! I didn't like the the way the player gets instantly attacked by that bat at the start, doesn't give time for the player to settle into the game. But really quite polished overall. A bigger window or full screen mode would be nice too.

Good to see something from Playbasic, especially something good... makes me wanna give PB a try :9

Those bats at the start of level 1 also annoy me >(
Good luck with the compo! Or has it already been judged, and if so how'd ya do?

Hey, thanks guys. I know this game isn't anything "absolutely brilliant" or "ground-breaking", but given the 72 hour time restriction its okay. I'm glad you guys all like it.

turns out that the compo site crashed a while ago, so we weren't able to get the results back on who one. No worries though, cuz one of the members have created a temp site. We should know who one by today (fri)

Hehe, I decided i'd update my avatar with the main char sprite, just for kicks.....and i updated my sig
