Hello!

As you may know there is a competition going on. The first competion is made by Seppuku Geijutsu.

Here is his rules for the compo:

Quote: "Theme: Your favourite character from a movie or a game, or just a character of your choice."


Don't be alarmed by this thread your time is not up yet. From now untill the 20th of August you can post your entires into this thread

******** Rules on Posting ************

Only 1 scene per person, so decide which is your best character and post them up. If more than one character is posted by you the First character you post will be entered for voting.

Please do not ask the community which character to post up. You decide on your best.

You can edit your posts only in the posting stages (so if you decided you wanted the other scene up u can change it) ... when people are voting you are not allowed to edit your post to change your entry.

You can post as many images as you want. You are allowed to post up images and any 3D file format. But all the images and files must be of the same scene.

Do not start voting yet.

This will give everyone time to finalize their enteries and post them up.

Ok on the 20th of August the voting will begin untill the 25th of August when the votes will stop. At this point all the votes will be counted up and a winner will be declaired.

I will tell you all how to vote when the time comes.

********* What the Winner gets *************

There is no prize as such... However the Winner has to come up with the idea for the next Compo. Also The person who creates the compo cannot enter it. As Seppuku Geijutsu Created this Compo he cannot enter it but he will have a chance to enter the next one.

I decided on that rule because it would eliminate the chance of one person winning the competition all the time and it also means one person doesn't have to create the competition all the time.

Try not to chat in this thread. Go to the original compo thread to chat. You can add text with ur Images/Files Explaining what they are from (Also i do recomend saying who your character is and what they are off... Or post an original of the character u modeled off)

anyway, nice set of rules. I would like to add this...

Anyone unable to vote in the voting stage, state why and when the latest time you can vote, as I am having to, so I think the date to start the next one will be as close as 30th as possible, 25th last day of voting, 26-29thth count the votes and announce the winner and give the winner the chance to think of a theme, then they can announce the new theme on the 30th.

Also, when making the new theme, don't start a new threads, mods will eat you alive for that, so use the thread I started.

sorry to chat here as well, but surely the winner should be free to enter the competition again, but just not be eligible to win? Could that rule not also just create two winners, that alternate constantly?

personally, i think taking a page out of poly count's book, and call it a challenge instead, then its more of a personal triumph, trying to do better than last time.

i think this 'competition' is just going to breed elitism, and make people think they have some sort of special rank above others.

but thats just me. i'm not entering this one, as i couldn't be arsed!

soz yeah, shouldda called it a challenge, the idea of winners not entering was Adds idea, so yeah I agree enter the winners, but aren't allowed to win, makes more sense that way, if some one wins too often we will not take their votes into thought, so other people can win, otherwise its not fair

I agree sspike its not fair you should earn your first place by beating the (Ill losely say) best(just first place dont get mad) that would give them the greatest feeling.

well we'll allow the winner to enter the next one, if the person wins too often, don't let their votes count for 2 compos then other people can have the chance to win, I doubt that'll happen, but if it does, we got rules ready

that sounds better I agree with that one. The winner still has a chance to be good. But if he just wins all the time then theres this rule which is better.

I've looked at the WIPs as well, but I've come to my conclusion on a vote from me.

BigAdd.
Why?
Because he had no clue how to character model and managed to prove himself wrong with a nice Mike, although he could've added more to the scene.

alright heres my entry. This is also my first character model so feel free to laugh .


This is Dragons Ghost. Dedicated to the greatest fighter ever Bruce Lee. Bruce's nickname was the Dragon(thats why his movies had names like enter the Dragon and Way of the Dragon.) Well Bruce has long been dead. and the dragon I made in the background isnt oriental looking at all but its a dragon. That looks alittle ghostly to represent the ghost of the dragon or the ghost of the spirit of Bruce Lee. Sorry for the story but it fun to add meaning to stuff.
The arms suck and so does the face but hey atleast I tried.

There is a prize...I thought of this on the way back from holiday, a Gmail invite, completely free, and I have 49 of them (I will want about a minimum of 35 left, for friends/family, so not many to give away)

Winners will have to email me for their prize, so I can send one. So BigAdd I'll send you one asap, good thing you're on my contact list, makes life easier

yup, but still, its a luxury pool table, lounge, drinks machines, I guess its schools way of saying 'stay here, you get us more money, if you stay, you can have all this luxury, see and what will college give ya?' Plus I wanna apply for that thing where you get paid to be in 6th form, but, I can't maximum requirement for house income is 30k, and we earn more than that...bugger

I got a job too, doesn't pay well though, so I'll get a new one now, my current one I got as a lil cash when I was 15, but I can get a better one woot!!! at least then I won't miss brainiac science abuse, haha Braniac golf, putt it and blow up a caravan lol
