Howdy ^^

Is it complicated to program a script-operated camera behaviour ?
Lets say you throw a ball to an AI computer Player ( what should be easily done with the physics engine , right ? ) and then you are in HIS view. I think the Camera only has to switch to the Position the AI player was standing.
Another way would be to exchange these two world coordinates i think. ( like with teleporters ). Set the AI player to the point youve thrown the ball and your coordinates set to the point where the ai player catched the ball.
Could you please please implement this thing ?

Also, it would be really great if we could have simple tasks for "enemies". In Example : The other team always runs to the ball and is trying to kill the Person who got the ball. and when the ball drops down to the grass, they catch it and have to run to the goal.

I really dont think this would be so complicated...though there are already Script behaviours. And wo said the point of interest for Enemies is only the player....hopefully it will be possible to let them hunt for another entity ( Football )

The one with the biggest gun is the one to watch. Why does he always score the most goals?


Doing anything with camera views other than the default is not going to be easy in FPSC currently. That does not mean things cant be done - I am sure - just that to needs someone to put the effort in and try and see what can be achieved and maybe fail after a lot of hard work. But unless someone tries we will never know.

Personally, I am not in the game of trying to defeat FPSC in areas that is not designed to compete. Results at best are likely to be not professional enough.

The idea of carrying and throwing of course is now possible - an enemy for instance could poosibly throw a football and not a grenade and the player can now pick up and throw stuff around. A football game is rather more complex than that of course with many things really required to be of a much higher level of sophistication than that which FPSC will allow.

Advanced Pathfinding, AI and desicison making capabilities, Group or Team Communications and camera control are only some but perhaps the most important of those needed to make a professional looking game of this nature. All these things are really advanced requirements - very advanced - if you want even a reasonable result.

Script it yourself - well maybe - you want to give it a go. Not me. Personally I recon this is a non starter cuurrently. You might achieve something very simplistic - I guess that could be done.

Perhaps when these areas of FPSC become more advanced and the scripting becomes more flexible and user friendly, then more professional results will be possible in such game making scenarios.

When V1 is released you will be able to adjudge for yourself the new capabilites. Ceratinly they are extremely good and fairly advanced with the suport of good thinking and scripting effort but not quite to a professional football type game standard yet I would think.

Who knows - try it when you get it and see what can be achieved.

After that - If TGC are willing to continue advancing the program you may have more options along these lines somewhere down the road.

Okay...i dont wanna have football "rules" in my game. Only "throw the ball in the goal or kill the whole other team to win" ^^
Like in the old "Brutal Sports Football" !


i think , like you said , the comlicatedst thing is the AI.
I dont even think its possible to pick up objects which were thrown away from enemies.

Lets see....if i design this piece as a multiplayer only game, then it works No Ai, no other cameras. Just 5 on 5 human players.
But i have to find some singleplayer stuff in relation to this.
-_- the point is the AI.......scripting........
Would be nice of someone from the TGC Team to give me some hope relating to scripting my dreamgame ^^ ( sorry....german-english )

phaps a multi player game. a large arena with walls etc. everyone has an uzi with 1 person on each side with a mini gun =) a ball in the center. 2 goals either end of the multi story arena =. score loads of goal and kill loads of the other team. fun all round =)

yeah ! I think this will be fun. But i rather wanna see meelee ( lets say close combat ) weapons in the game. Like a sledgehammer , an axe , crowbar , knifes , swords , chainsaws , buzz saws , maces , baseball bats and so on
i have to make it very bloody , so i have to mess around with decals and frag animation though theres no particle system.
hmmm...maybe i should get this thing copyrated

PS: Does anyone know if its possible to animate some kind of referee who runs onto the middle of the field , drops the ball , and runs backwards to his point ?
( well, you can slaughter him also ^^ )

second idea...you the referee runs onto the field, then some kind of monster runs after him and rips his head off, then you play with his head ^^

third idea...when you killed a playe , you could take his head and throw it away also and get some points ^^

i dunno about the ref thing but i also want vcqb (very-close-quater-battle)wepons such as knifes, swords etc.is this possable? can u set the range of a weapon?

and can no-one use my map for there own purpose since im gonna use it for a mp game when V1 is out that ill let you ALL have for free =)
