i tried a little modeling with anim8or for some games i had thought up, but i forgot to make them low poly. does anyone have a link to a program that could reduce the poly count, i've been looking for a couple hours and found nothing. i tried to download action3d, but it wouldn't download.
-or-
i have the models ready for download if someone would do the grunt work for me... you will cred in the game and i will send you a copy of the game.

If you like. you can reduce poly whit milkshape..
1. make model whit anim8or.
2. export to .obj.
3. Import in milkshape
4. select model (makes red)
5. Click in "tools" and select directx
6. Whit this open a mini black windows whit your model inside, an you can see a litle bar in the top of this window, you can move left for reduce o right for more polys.. you can see in real time your model.
7. after you can export then to dirextx, etc..

cheers..

Darkbasic MAD.. Are you indeed MAD?!?

What does your comment have any relevance to anything?

I'm guessing you're saying that gamespace 1.5 light is free, and that you can reduce poly's with it...

If that's the case, maybe you should also explain how to do so to him instead of such an undescriptive phrase.

It's always tricky to keep polygon counts in check - really the best method is to stay low and keep low. Takes a lot of practice but also it's important to use textures well. In DBPro you have a transparency mode that allows 1-bit alpha, like the foliage in FPS games that's nice and round no matter how low detail the texture is. If you use that mode you can cut perfectly round holes in textures.

A good example of low polygon character modelling is Warcraft3, the incredibly low poly work on the heads for example is worth paying attention to - heads can be a real pain to model and texture neatly.
