Probably Beethoven's 5th symphony. It's not an opera*, and the notes you supplied are way off. For shame.

Try http://www.musipedia.org/

It will name your tune by either singing or whistling in a microphone, selecting keywords, playing it on a piano, or using something called 'Parsons Code' which I find is quite reliable.

or it could be Orf`s Carmina Burana, or Mussagorskys Night on a bare Mountain. both of them would fit the description (sortof)

I assume thats what you mean because of the choir, making you think it was opera, if not then I have no idea.

Alton Towers uses 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' by 'Edvard Grieg' in their ads;

That sounds uncannily like the song posted previously above: 'Guint Suite', which according to Alton Towers, is what they use as their theme:

http://www.towerstimes.co.uk/interact/music.htm

Although that song is distinctively different, they are very similar, perhaps the version Spooky posted is one of the 're-styled' versions they mention on that site?

I'm gonna have to agree with "Oh Fortuna". It's a very well known piece whose main hook pivots around two chords. And even though it does sound very "evil" I'm not quite sure the original intent of the song is evil. Let's face it - it's eerie because it's in Latin.

--- edit: read the translation here. If it's possible, the song becomes even more creepy.

If you want "dramatic scene in slow motion" music, then I've always thought that Albinoni's Adagio in G minor was pretty emotive.

--- another edit: Last edit, I promise Of course, we're all forgetting the best classical tune of all time. Walter Murphy's efforts at playing Beethoven's 5th (Windows Media Player only :S)
