Haven't updated much about TML lately though much have happened. The thing is that 3.1 messes up the colors of my animated obejcts. Patch 4 should fix it but I haven't recived the 2nd beta. I have emailed Lee about that though.

Anyway, I got inventory, animations and sounds working now. It's really nice when the characters talk and the weapons makes sound while you see them beeing used. Mortuator's laugh after he have killed a nasty is my favorite sound =) DBP comes with loads of nice sound effects for weapons etc.

I'm now set to start on the AI. I got the chompies animated and with soundeffects so it's just coding left. I got a bag of creamy pepper chips and a big 2l Coke to tackle this =)

When the AI is completed I can make another demo for you to try out.

Everything about the attack works now, you can even get killed if you don't watch out =) The camera zooms in a little and tracks the active enemy but you can still controll it. The chompies attacks with a jump bite and can select any hero close to them. Once they got a target they stay with it unless someone else attacks them. Now all that's left of the battle engine before I can give you a demo is pathfinding.

Still working on debugging like making the enemies making the correct amount of damage =) Going into my test battle with all 4 heroes at level one and you are into a though match if you don't use the inventory items you got. I tried increasing the party level from 1 to 10 and spending the points I got and it made a very big difference and the battle was really simple. Now there are only the 2 weakest nasties in this battle so it's gonna be a lot worse later in the game =) Oh, and the nasties doesn't move yet. They should try to souround the heroes when I'm done.

Yay, blocking works nicely. Blocking increases your DEF skill with 5. Since the attack roll is 1-20 it does a lot against weaker nasties. To add to that every 5 points more the blocker have in DEF then the attacker have in ATT 1 point of the damage is reduced for a max of 3 (as a reference the weakest hero/nasty have 2-4 in damage). That also works the other way around. If the attacker have 5 more in ATT then the blocker have in DEF damage is incresed by 1.

Wow, that was a challenge, I lost Pea-Guy and the AI still is so stupid that it surounds the target clockwise at the moment. But don't fear lost party members are only unconcious, after the fight they will get up again. And after every battle you will recive some life and energy. But I really need to lover the constitution for all chompies or TML is gonna get too hard in the beginning.

The whole point of the AI is to make them attack and suround the target or the game would be too easy. I'm gonna make them better at that today. Don't fear, they don't take as much beating now as they did =)

They will attack the closest hero, or if you attack them they will change their mind. And Pea-Guy can take some beating you know. Now that I have lovered the CON of the nasties they are prety easy to defeat.

Yay! I'm satisfied with how the AI works now =) It's not amazingly advanced cause I don't have the time but it works great most of the time. It's great that the AI isn't too smart cause TML is about outsmarting the AI in strategy.

Some more things to do before a demo. One thing is ending the battle =) And I'm gonna need patch 4 or a new beta of it cause I have color problems with 3.1 that is fixed in p4 b2 but my transparent matrix textures doesn't work =(
