I've just finished a new version of my 3D Object Viewer. I had to convert the gui from v1 to v2 of BlueGUI and made a few changes and additions while I was at it. I got rid of the 4 different views to one single view because there was no real need for more than one view and I added support to load terrains and a save screenshot option. I'll probably be adding an appearance settings dialog soon to apply the different effects to the objects.

3D Object Viewer features at a glance

Load and view 3D Objects - .x, .3ds, .dbo, .md2
Load and explore bsp maps
Load and explore terrains
2 camera modes - orbit and explore
Objects can be rotated, scaled, textured and saved as .dbo
Batch convert multiple files to dbo quickly and easily
Object limbs can be rotated, scaled and offset easily
View object animations and frame numbers
View different scale sizes on terrains

Please note there is a nag screen but it is a fully functional program with nothing disabled in the unregistered version. Any feedback or ideas greatly appreciated. And finally a quick thank you to Batvink for allowing me to use bvencrypt.

Nice tool that...
On another note, if you use the winchs .exe tool on it you can get the exe down from over 9 meg to just over 4...

Thanks Fash. I did remove some of the unused dlls to keep the size down but I'll check out winchs tool if I can find it. The download is only 1.6mb though so that's the main thing.

Object viewer is an old app..
I didn't even think that it would be possible to
make something new with that..
But you got it..

This is the coolest and easier to use
object viewer I did ever try..

Great.. great work, man..

The worst foe lies within the self..

Does it retain it's skeleton and/or animation when converted?

The models I've tested it with have retained everything including their animation. Basically whatever state the model is in after you load it from .x, 3ds or .md2 is exactly the same state you'll get when you save and load back in as dbo. If you make changes to limbs it saves that too. I think it saves limb info on top of the models original state, which means setting the limb angles back to 0 in the program or through DBPro code will revert the model back to the state it was in as .x etc. At least that's what it did when I was testing it.

Looks funky xtom. I'll probably be using this for my prefabs.

Thanks guys.

Skalex if the models don't load in the program then most likely you won't be able to load them into your DBPro programs either. If you can load the models through code yourself then post one here and I can check it out.

Thanks guys. I've dropped the registration price for anyone who wants to remove the nag window popping up. It's only €4.99 now to register and all future updates to the program will of course be free. I won't be dropping it any lower so now is a good time to register. Remember the program is still fully functional unregistered so even if you can't afford it or don't want to pay you can still use it.

Fixed a couple of minor bugs when changing the background colour and the object resize window. V3.3 download link in first post.
