In 3d studio max my textures aren't very detailed its liked they been smoothed out.

is this when you render it? or in the viewport?

have you just applied a texture or have you uv mapped it?

As for your first question its in the viewport.
If you mean throwing on a uv map then I tried both.

Viewports use lower resolution textures/materials in order to render more complex scenes better.

in the driver settings you can set it to match bitmap as closely as possible, which for the most part will render the texure in the viewport unless your using some stupidely huge texture.

Thank you very much for your replies. Adjusting the driver settings makes it work perfect but after that you either need to reboot the program or the opened file.
