Hi

I was going to check fpscreator.com when i saw that it was down and it was under preperation for the official V1 release

There also stand that they will be back shortly with a upgrade system for all EA users!

And since i'm a EA user i'm really looking forward to this.
I think it will be fun to play around with the physics
Also i hope that lots of the old bugs are gone.

One thing that dosn't sound good is that they have removed the ladders:S and ladders are really usefull.

Yup, i think so. The official release date for fpsc V1 should be the 22 september.
But EA users should get it some time before the official release date

Removed ladders? WHY!?!?!
I suppose you could just make a backup copy of the ladder textures, scripts and models before you upgrade then re-load them back into V1.

Wait a minute, if they remove the ladders how do they expect anybody to get to the top of the guard tower entity? Unless they leave that particular ladder in...

Ladders are not in V1 so you wont be able to use them. If you have them in games made with EA then you will have to replace them currently with some other method of movement upwards. i.e. stairs - not much option really. This may cause you some difficulty in having to redsign your levels.

I dont see any reason that you could not effectively overide this in theory though you would get problems when actually trying to climb the ladders due to the introduction of physics into the engine.

Problems would be most apparent if you say have ladders stacked one upon the other so you have a "high ladder".

Ladders may be brought back after V1 so you may like to leave your levels as is and wait for such time....but who knows how long that may be?

Efferctively there is no substitute for a ladder in a game so....

A comment from TGC may be helpful on this issue.

Lee took ladders out due to a side effect of adding in physics. Our intention would be to add them in some time in the future.

I kinda thought the ladders in the EA version were just a bit flaky, but after Lee puts them back in, they should be better than before.

Well.... Without ladders there will sure be another way to make it Like stairs. But just to be sure will you be able to make object static also?

Speak in english please, and, how do you rotate the entities up and down instead of twisting them left and right?
example: HUMAN LYING DOWN= __ HUMAN STANDING UP= |
how do you make it rotate like that, if you can. srry to get off topic again

The site isn't down. I still go to fpscreator.com/forums.php, and it operates normally; just the homepage is being updated!

Also would the ladders come in a buy-able upgrade, or V2, or a free upgrade? Or is that still up in the air?
