I made my first sword in Anim8tor, copied off a picture... I don't know how to texute it RIGHT, OR check how many polys it is.

Here is Ortho View:
http://www.solisearch.net/ims/pic.php?u=191602SZkT&i=198716

... And here is Front View:

http://www.solisearch.net/ims/pic.php?u=191602SZkT&i=198717

Please help me texture it

Thanks.

Thanks, that's probobly the first time I got that much of a positive reply ...

Yeah, your right. The blade needs sharpening. But how do I texture it with the picture of the sword I have? (The one on the plane)

Well u need to unwrap the Uvs. If you take a UV map of the Front polygons u can slap that image straight onto it!

aggghhh ned flanders!!!!!!! keep you and your moustache away from me!!!!!!!!!

Great model, can't say whats already been said, UVMapper is quite a good unwrapping tool, I would have used the 'Planar' UV map for your sword on that, unless you downloaded the demo of UVMapper pro, then I wouldn't know a thing about it.

As for Lithunwrap, not a bloody clue, but the key word I think you'll need to look out for is 'plane' or 'box' when setting UV types

Thanks, that looks really good. But how would I make the texture show in DBC? and also, its around 7000 polys

How in the world do I lower that?

Well..usually if you want it to be in a game, you make it low poly from the start. There are poly reducers out there but they are somewhat expensive and I don't think they could get it down more than half. I know blender has a poly reducer in it but it sometimes produces odd results. Other than that...I hate to say it but you would probably have to re do it for low poly.

As for the texture I believe all you have to do is have the image in the same folder as the model.

Explain to me why some people pay money for 3d software? Its not 3d till its been blended. wwww.blender3d.org

Shouldn't be that hard to sharpen it, just select the edge verts and scale.

you might want to check that the texture isn't referenced absolutely.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

You Have Mail.

"Cinema4Dified" again. I've made the blade sharper for you and sent you a working Direct X model. You have to use that image for the texture again.
