Since wav files can be very large, will it be possible to use MP3 in V1 or later versions?

An interesting format that wouldn't require a licence (as far as I remember) is the .OGG format.
This could be a substitute to .MP3 ....

Rik is right, OGG-fortmat is both better compressed and has better quality than both MP3- and WAV-files. And I too have heard somewhere that the OGG is a free format.

One thing to look forward to:

OGG is a completely open and royalty-free format. It also offers better quality and compression than the MP3 format. The downside is that it is more complex to process (but that is not really an issue on modern PCs - only portable music players).

I *think* that V1 supports OGG out of the box.
