Seeing these are practise heads, I'm guessing you would want some comments on how to develope further? Its looking very good, though there are a few problems, not too noticable.. but there nontheless
as you said, the texture needs a bit more work, so here is a few suggestions on how you can go about that.
The lower endge from the lower eyelids are a bit sharp which give him the baggy eye look. You can fix this by simply removing the line there abd just keeping the effect with the shadow. Unless you want a baggy eyed look.
The line between the upper lip and the lower is too straight. and too much of a line. Try avoiding lines all together and do what you can with shadow and light hitting eachother.
http://www.portrait-artist.org/pics-ballpointpen-sketch/rendering-lips.jpg (copy then paste, they dont like me using their images as referance it seems)<-- googled that real quick. That mouth is shaped a bit differently.. but will give you the idea. Add some eyebrows (I'm sure this is a given) and adding a hair line on the face texture, the hair looks quite good but looks a bit like a badly placed wig at the moment, but this will be fixed easly with some hair on the head mesh. Also, work a bit more on the hair texture, try making the dark and light lines more random.
Overall great work, hope you dont mind my pointers
looking forwards to seeing more work
