Maybe I am going insane but haven't you already made athread with the exact same topic - except heavy weapons instead of rockets? Anyway, I'm not sure how in depth physics comply with enemies, but you never know.

That actually would be very good if it had ragdoll physics .

i dont think V1 will have ragdoll physics...because for this, you need a direct bone animation added to the physics system. As for now, i thought that animations in FPSC are only handled with frames...
if we had the ability to do ragdol physics, then we also could have an enemy look up when he aims up....and down when he looks down. would be great for multiplayer. currently, all models just look straight forward.

yeah...thats the ticket !

Wheel Gator,

No. It will not have ragdoll physics.
Don't ask for any, V1 has already been made and boxed.

In V1 using physics, it is possible (although kinda hard to get charichters to do it).

BOOM! Awww shucks! There goes the world. again.

its NOT possible...cause If you want to apply physics to a non-static entity, you need a complex bone animation within which the physics adapt on. you dont know what i mean , right ? ^^

yeah...thats the ticket !

It's surely possible, just like it's possible in DBPro using newton or whatever, it might be more a case of the time involved in rigging the characters. As far as I can tell the animations are all standard, so it's certainly something that could be done in the future. I'm not sure that it'll mean aimable enemies, that really has to be done through code, and it can be done already in DBPro without needing physics. Personally, I think it'll be added/improved but it'll involve a seperate model, like you have 1 model with all the animations, and another rigged model with no animations - when you want to rag, you pose your un-animated model in the same way as the animated one, and then apply forces and let the ragdoll take over. Something that could easily be done upon death, like kill someone then he goes lifeless and ragdolly.

The thing to remember about the FPSC characters is that they're all holding guns, adding a rigged model with no gun would not be too much of a hassle for Simon IMO, and the gun could be dropped upon death. This would mean an end to keyframe animated deaths, which is a decent chunk of the animators workload.

Its not possible in V1 ....and you cant change that with scripting. I know that there are games which already have ragdoll physics. If i remember right...red faction2 was one of those games. And of course...its only realistic when physics are applied to the bone construct.

no, the ragdoll effect is very differant to what u think it would be.

Example, a leg.
It would have to have a sertain animation effect that alows 1 part of the leg to drop and another part to drop with pyhisics and be joint at the knee. Also, the knee can only bend 1 way, so this also has to be done in a program. There is how far and which way the legs can bend ect. How heavy 1 body part is too another.
