After making a scene for the "War" competion. I decided it might be fun to make a tank scene on a battlefield. This is my start on I got the basic tank down but could you give me some crits. Ive been working on it and I think its pretty ugly but that happens when you look at it to much .

Note to mod who erased my sig: John Hand**** is not inappropriate hes actually a famous American who signed The declaration of independence. His name usually means a signature

cool, thank Buddha its not anyother gun, but still is an implemant of destruction (also...Implement of destruction is a great song by Chimaira, maybe I'll listen to them after Dry Kill Logic)

The crit I got is that the bottom half is high detail and the top is very low detail, I'd keep the detail level the same, which can be solved in ZBrush easily (just add it as though you were drawing it )

Its looking good. The tank turret doesn't meet the base of the tank though. Thats all i noticed. and yes more detail behind the tracks.

Minor update.

Detail added to the top as suggested .

And if you couldnt tell the top was an ortho shot and thus was only one tank. So now I have a whole tank thats a update 2.

Ill keep posting updates till well its done

EDIT: Im waiting til its near complete before running importing it to Zbrush. So it will get more detailed dont worry

ahh, abrams looks nothing like that :o, better idea to model it off blueprints since they dont have any perspectave and make sure you find hundreds of reference images from avery conseivable angle so you know exactly how that area should look on your model.

for instance the reactive armour on the front is dead flat, and the shape of the top 1/2 is out of proprtion due to the image your modeling off

Thanks guys. Im not sure if I want an exact M1 Abrams remake I just wanted the basic shape of tanks for reference. Thanks for the blueprints though, It will help me with any extra detail or proportions I want to work on.

Heres a test render with some updates. This is NOT a M1 Abrams clone. It my own tank to do for fun so sorry its not perfectly like a abrams. This is also just a test render I got some work to do with the shadow of tank and some more ambient objects.

Heres another test render. they're both kinda shoty but Ill work on it.
