dont worry, everyone has a ftp client already installed in window's internet explorer. Basically, tgc will gice u a link, but instead of typing in http://bla bla bla you type in ftp://bla bla bla Then it will ask for a username and a password, unless it is an anonymous download, and you type it in, and download the file.

Although we would recommend using a real client (or at the very least, the one built in via the command prompt) so you get automatic resume support should the download / your connection, break.

A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices.

So richard, a basic download manager that supports FTP but doers not allow for entering a username and password is not going to be good enough?

In that case I'll have to use WS_FTP but it don't support resume...

Try 'FTP Surfer'. It's 100% freeware and has a nice Windows Explorer type interface that is both familiar and easy to setup/use.

Thanks Anastasi, seems to be very similar in features to what I already have and WS_FTP has been out for years, it's therefore likely to have fewer bugs.

Neither programme addresses the problem of RESUME which would mean having to restart all over again if the connection was lost for whatever reason.
