It appears to be a DNS issue. From the error message, DNS server knows the server name, but can not resolve it from what I can see from your shot. Can you ping the files server?

Click START, Click RUN

Type CMD and click OK

In the Command Window type, PING FILES.FPSCREATOR.COM
then hit enter

Whats it say?

huh... when i type in CMD and enter, a commandwindow pops up, but then a message comes up and says some directories and then " the system is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications." Then I have to close the command window.

You should either see something like:

Reply from 72.36.165.86: bytes=32 time=49ms TTL=106

Which is good, then the problem is something else like a firewall.

or if you see:

Desination Host Unreachable
Then its a DNS issue and you have to take it up with you ISP.

Attach your AUTOEXEC.NT file here. Its in your C:\Windows\System32 directory.

One of the following files is corrupt:

Config.nt
Autoexec.nt
Command.com

It appears you may have a virus. Go to:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/16bit.htm

to fix this problem, its very easy. Then try the above PING again to see if you can see the FTP server.

I would replace the files first, but the clean up would not be a bad idea.. These files will just get corrupt again...

Download the Microsoft Spyware remover, its free.

http://www.microsoft.com/spyware

Run it, clean your system, replace the files from the site above, you should be fine.

By the way, the MCSE after my name (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). Don't worry, your problem is not a big one. It can easily be fixed.

Hey, it worked! It was just a firewall issue. My stupid ZoneAlarms blocked it last time. I prolly do have the virus, tho, so ill clean up my comp. Thanks for all your help!

for a great anti-virus solution that's also free for home use, try AVAST - you can download it on www.spychecker.com (but don't download much else, some things on that site are not too kosher - but avast is fine).

Avast will ask to do a boot time scan after you install it -= go ahead and do so - that will run a very good anti-virus scan in DOS - which is what you want. That should get rid of most nasties.

Also download winpatrol (again, it's free on the same site) - that's a great startup manager. Armed with those two things and zonealarm pro - you should be properly protected.
