One of the best features of FPS Creator is the small level size of map files (assuming you are using the basic content of the product). We would like users to share their creations with other users by posting their levels into this forum thread. Just attach your .fpm files to your post. It'll be great to see how creative you all are and we want to encourage an idea and game swapping environment.

A question, mainly because I'm too lazy to test it...what will happen if we use bespoke media?

If, for example, I use a bespoke wall section, will it crash FPSC, remove the section, or replace it?

Maybe V1.1 should have a "pack" option to export all of the necessary media too.

Here is two maps I made for muiltiplayer.

First Map
-TwinTowers-
This is a map made for 4 players.
It features two towers and a small storage area where you can hide.
Battle on with the sniper rifle which is at the top of each towers or if thats not your style. Pick up a Machine gun and mow down your foes. Split up into teams Skelitens vs US Marines or go free for all.

Seconed Map
-Harkins Hotel-(was suppose to be a one player map)
This is a map made for 8 Players!.
It features a big Hotel which is dark and scary, where at every corner you can meet your foe. Look around the hotel for some great fire power. Pick up the mini Gun to take out your enemy in seconeds or if you are that cow boy type. Pick up the magnum, which does 40 points of damage!, and blow them away with your sharp shooting.
Spilit up into teams Skelons VS Harkin Marines or just do a free for all.

There was some placement issues like guns poping out of a box, which they were not suppose to and a box that you had to squize through to get through it(But i fix that) and wrong ammo type for a gun oops. Also took some Entites away for speed.
I uploaded a fixed version of the map.
(Thats what i get for not testing my map) lol

Hope people really enjoy my maps.

Third Map
-WareHouse-
This map is a 8 player map or even 6 players.
This map battle takes place in a cool ware house. There are boxes every where and there is an office area in the back where you can hide or fight. Find the lounge and take a break from all the fire power lol.
Go through the vents of the ware house to take some series cover from the snipers or other fire power. See if you can jump to the high box area. In side is the powerful sniper rifle.
Skelitens Vs US Marines or Free for All

I made a new Map this time and updated Harkins Hotel this time.

-Fourth Map-
Nick's House
This is a 8 Player Map.
This time the battle takes place at Nick's House(which is me).
This map took me a while to make. So have fun with it.

-Updated Harkins Hotel-
Took away some lights that were doing nothing and replaced them with blue and added a weapon in another place.

This is a Muiltiplayer Map

This map is called.
Golden Eye Facility.
This map is based off the Facility in Golden Eye on the N64.
It may not be much detail and for that reason is because the original was never really detailed and I did not feel like adding more to it at the moment.

Enjoy it.

@chuckie: really like your map. I looked within it for the script that activates the green fog when you fall into the acid but the decals and the hurt zone link to the original FPSC's AI scripts. Can you tell me where can I find it?

By the way, there's no need to use various hurt zones -in this case- just place one hurt zone at one corner and strech it at will until it covers all the area you want to check.

Edited: don't worry about teh script since I found the green lights hidden beneath the hurt zones.

Cheers!

There is no zip password. Thats weird. Here is a ziped with all my muiltiplayer maps into a RAR archive instead of a ZIP archive.(The other zips had two, but hey this will save time for any one that wants my maps)

Hi Ultrahead

Thanks for the compliment and the tip on the hurt zones! I didn't realize you could stretch them. Yes, as you discovered the green 'fog' is just green lights placed in the narrow space. It only works for enclosed areas - we would need a Fog Zone using volumetric fog to create more realistic effects - hint, hint Lee

Also, the effect is let down a bit by the fact that the acid decal is only one-sided, meaning you see it from above, but once you fall below it and look up, you don't see it anymore.

Rick, I love the physics and the puzzle elements that it has enabled - this is a lot of fun to play with! I will upload more maps as I explore more puzzle ideas

Cheers

Here is my multiplayer map:

Reaser Mansion

This level is the first level of my game, Project Luna, converted to multiplayer form. It's reminisent to Resident Evil in that it has a mansion that leads into an underground research facility.

It is intended for 5 players, and you can play as:

- Brad Houston, main player of the Single Player game.
- Jane Reaser, a secret character linked to the mansion.
- A Scientist, who is conducting research on a secret experiment.
- Type A Zombie, an accidental mistake of this experiment.
- Type B Zombie, a mutation of the regular zombie.

EDIT: It took me until now to realise that I haven't added any extra weapons/ammo/health yet! I'll re-upload it later.

Got to love Resident Evil 0! Currently playing for the: 5th time

@Chuckie: a volumetric "fog zone" ... that's a good idea. Why don't you post it in the feature creep forum? (if it's not already there).

Maybe another suggestion is giving the user a field to input the trasparency value it prefers for the backside of decals (to be used mainly with those always facing up).

There is another problem, if you place a field of -in this case acid- decals (bigger than the one in your level map) the sounds linked to them are played all at once, so the combined result is a loud noise that you can even hear out of the room where the field is located.

Here is another Map.
This map is called "The Pit".
It features a pit in the middle where you can fall down and also grab a gun on your way down, but beware you can also die from that fall.
This map is made for 6 players.

-Other-
Here is some tips when making a muiltiplyer map.
1.Do not use too much entities in one area for that will cause slow down in some areas.
2.Keep Requierments as low as possible.
3.Always play test your map and run around every where to make sure speed is ok. Say between 27-33 FPS
4.Always make sure the FPS Polygon Slices do not go too high. 0-2500 should be a good rate. But I say if you can make it lower with out ruining the design of the map, Do it.
5.Make a design based off a theme or a good idea. Thats the best way to make a map.
(For Example, my map 'The Pit' is based off a pit in the middle of the map)
6.Don't make spawn points too close to each other.
7.Weapon Spawns/ Items. Here are some good settings I use.
About 30 Delay loops = one sec. 1800 = 1 Min
Extended Delay Loop 35 = one ESec. 2100= 1 Extended Min
3900 For Ammo = 1800+2100
6000 For Gun = 3900+2100
6500 For health
I have a extended delay loop because when you are not near the item. The delay loop goes a little bit faster.
8.Don't make weapons too weak or do the same damage. Make there Damage a little bit more and unique for each gun.
9.Always play test your map to look for weak points and bugs(Guns poping out of areas that they are not suppose to, Impossible areas to get to that youa re suppose to be able to get to)
10.Don't Make the stage linear.
This is all I can think of at the moment.

Also don't forget that your game will run a lot faster once compiled, Faster than the play testing mode.

-RickV-
I am wondering. Will there be a update some time in the future that allows more than one map for muiltiplayer mode. When its compiled.

@epo

a word of advice, on nicks house, on top of the lab segment, youhave put the floor on, not only does cieling have a different texture underneath, but it also lets you only see external wall when put next to the building, try it!

I may Be small, but im bloomin good on a computer!

@Epo, one more suggestion for mp games and also not-mp ones: try not to use too many ventilation ducts in the level, 'cause this can really make the frame rate fall quickly to very low values.

I don't exactly know where to put my level for the
map making competition, so I will upload it here.
You must build a tower from boxes climb or jump
on the top of the boxes to the top tower, get your weapon
and shoot down the wall of boxes. Push the boxes from the
stairs down on the floor. Shoot these boxes on the floor
and cause a chainreaction. All the boxes include the tower
you build will explode.

Succes and greetings from Peter Lems of Holland
