Here is a story for a game I plan to start, when I will I can't say right now. But here it is (please exuse my spellig):

In 2008, Nasa launched the first commercail flight to the
moon. Passangers were then taken on a tour of the moon, showing
craters and demensrations. Even though it was about 12 thousand
dollars to reserve a flight, 3 more flights were made. In 2012,
Nasa began the first construction project on the moon. Their goal
was to create a small "Hotel" in which vistitors could stay on the
moon. It was a long project, and wasn't finished until 2018.
4 years later, full blown space travel began the process of
turning from Sience fiction to reality. By the year of 2023, the
first ship that could travel to Mars and beyond the astroid belt
was finishd. Unforutnatley, it never got the chance to space.
During launch, a fatal error undetected by the computer was cause
for the ships destruction. The resualt was a baby nuke.
By mid 2026, the next ship was ready. However, it was not
launched until late 2026 to ensure everything was perfect. The
crew of six got it to Mars and back. With this, 3 more ships were
built. Though it was costly to build, it was mostly made up with
the $96 thousand dollars per ticket.
Many years later, in 2037, space travel was acustomed to.
Flights were launched on a regular basis, and tickets only cost
as much as an average airline ticket in 2005. Man now populated
17 other worlds, with complete colonies on each. The population
issue on Earth was cured - but only for awhile. Sientist need a way
to make ships faster to find further off planets, so the population
could be kept at a good level. The colonies were getting filled
themselves, and many colonist refused to allow a population such
as Earth's. This became a big problem and it was left to Nasa to
solve it.
By 2041, Nasa has been changed to the United People's Space
Administration. UPSA had the job of maintaning all flights, and
developing new technology for space. Space ships now varied as
much as airplanes did. But the problem still remained - ships just
weren't fast enough. In 2042, UPSA's lead sientist uncovered a new
means of transportation. It was a wormhole of sorts, ripping into
space to get to your destination. Like an alternate dimension. The
best part about it, was it could get you anywhere nearly instantly.
The problem was, it required a computer to be as percise as
possible when calculating the cornitints. A single error could
leave them in an unknown area or even cause them to appear inside
a star or planet.
It is now 2063. Wormhole technolagy has been mastered, it's
as simple as setting the destination and after a few seconds your
there. But the perfect universe was about to end.
UPSA sends out hundreds of recon "droids" a year. Hundreds
of new habital planets have been discovered, and population is no
longer a threat. But for all the time of space travel, about
50 or more years, there has been no sign of other life. This would
all change when UPSA discovered an "Earth-like" planet at the far
reaches of the solar system. It was not viewable through telescopes
before because the light still had not traveled. With a recon
finally close enough to see something, intelegent life was
descovered. UPSA attempted communication with the planet several
times, but with now reply. Then, on March of 2063, the life from
this planet attacked without warning. 35 colonies were lost in
just 2 months. Some say it was a space version of Plear Harbor.
The UMC, United Marine Corps, was orignally created to
prevent terrorist attacks. With a huge enlargement campain, the
UMC has grown to be the largest military force ever seen. But it's
technolgy seemed like nothing to the ruthless lifeforms that they
were faced against. The first real war for survival has begun...

You play as a UMC marine in an attepmt to over throw these life-
forms.

Please tell me what you think! As soon as I get my website together I will have a link with information on how to join the development. You will be in credits and of course get a free copy of the game. I can't say what you'll get if it goes commercail yet. That would probally be internally voted on by the team (if and when one is formed).

But meanwhile, please tell me what you think about the story!

It sounds cool but seems to progess a little too fast.

I mean, they have overcrowding problems in around 20 years? One would think it would take at least 100 years until they had an overcrowding problem.

Nahh... I could build me a space city, and ship people up for free... what is worth more, the ride or the labor

you only need a speed of...carry the 1... 900 m/s for 1 min... fuel isn't a big concern, it is maintainence... heck, look at the "Foam Incident"
