in the tuts ive found it all talks about animation on people.
if i want to animate a gun..do i have to put a basic bone structure in it for the slide and hammer and stuff or will it only animate people.

the bones will control any verts you assign them to, it's just the majority of animation is on organic things like people and such....

I've used bones without unions to animate guns parts. At this way there are no problen with the export, but the simple animation (by group)it's a good option in this case.
