I'm working on programming the GBA, and it's doing good. Any ideas for what I should make? I can make games, and I think calculaters and simple databases.

You could make a game where you walk around a seemingly endless backdrop collecting fruit. It would get you used to using backgrounds and sprites.

I wish I had time for GBA programming right now, I did some about a year ago and it was very fun. Where does the time go...

There is another way to do this. The co-author of Beginner's Guide to DarkBASIC Game Programming, Johnathan Harbuor, wrote another book for the same series that teaches you how to make a GBA game using HAM Devkit - www.ngine.de

I've tried both! Given up on both! If there was a C# converter...I would do it again.

a c# converter for gba? c# was invented after the gba, so it's unlikely one will exist, plus c# is managed code, you would need to find a managed to native converter which afaik doesn't exist

if you want to porgam anything like consoles you'll have to give up c# for c++ in most cases

Why can't you convert C# to C++ by hand?

Might as just write it in c++ then

So do i, c# and vb.net are good for windowed apps, but i wudn't use it for programming a console, your better off using c++ because you can get closer to the hardware - you have more control

i did here something about the 360 using .net, but i don't think that was true though

I bet Pascal, normal old C, and D (from Digital Mars) can do the same. You can also use devkitPro's devkitPPC component to make GameCube and its devkitPSP component for PSP games.
