It may be simpler to request it, but a lot of people (myself included) would like to know how to do it themselves. If you could give us some instructions that'd be much appreciated.

I think it'd be great if some kind people were to write some quick fool-proof tutorials on how to do various things such as re-texturing, importing models and scripting. Would be very helpful for me and others that are new to the world of 3D modelling and FPSC. Then they could be stickied so that nobody could miss them!

@snowdog:

Sorry, fool-proof tutorial will not happen because of how many different types of application are involved. Example is modelers. I know of 6 off the top of my head that would take numerous pages to do.

I actually wrote a tutorial back in February for the EA version, step by step. Worked very well.

I honestly don't know how much simpler the scripting system can get. You only have to one variable to worry about “state”.

Retexturing. Same issue as I stated before, too many different modelers. One of my biggest problems is that I don’t have stuff like MilkShape or TrueSpace so I cannot write for them. I have been using Max for about 15 years now and most people cannot afford Max (which I completely understand, it’s not a cheap).

Sorry that I wasn’t much help, but I wanted to give you a heads up on some of the issues you may face when asking for a tutorial.

Take care!

For retexturing a model you don t need to work on the model but only change the texture .. example
if you want to replace the texture of thi model

?:\...\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\meshbank\scifi\scenery\furniture\crateh\crate_h.X

you need to change this texture

?:\...\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\texturebank\scifi\scenery\furniture\crateh\crate_h_d2.dds

then you need to change this file

?:\...\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\entitybank\scifi\furniturea\crateh.fpe

this line at the end of the file

--------------------------------------------------------------------
;visualinfo

textured = texturebank\scifi\scenery\furniture\crateh\crate_h_d2.tga

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hitman, i already imported a AK47 in my FPSC. All animated, modeled by me. It's very simple for me.
