making the shoot animation for a melee weapon an actual sword seing for example, then the sword would be treated like a "gun" with a very short missile range. Any ideas? This should be approachable by the telented community here.

Shouldn't be too hard. have the actual "Shot" occur at the animation frame where the sword virtually would contact the player.

no, Jtbullet is trying to see a way to simulate it with script. May be, may be it's not possible. We will try anyway, eh, Jtbullet?

Make the firing animation the sword swing (or what ever the weapon is) and have the bullet it fires invisable and only travel to how ever far the sword is from you.

You will have to model your own sword etc... and then also animate it. But you would still need to write a script for it. Maybe someone from TGC would like to enlighten use on the possiblities.

Thanks

you will also have to shange the smoke and bullet holes images. the bullet holes in the wall could be like a cracked spot, and on wood it could be a splintered spot, for medel it could be a dent.

the Sword idea (short range melee sword) wouldn't work for me because then it would be a "whoever hits first, and the most, wins" type of game. I think it would be cool to be able to deflect arrows and spears (if you're quick) and have nice long sword duels by parrying your opponants blade. I hope this idea works out!

Okay, I am working on knife animations first. I have to figure a few things out, but I will begin the attempts. I am using fragmotion so if anyone wants to try, let me know and we will work it out together. I am thinking of slashes for the marks instead of the bulletholes.Yes the whoever hits most method will be necessary until someone figures out a better way, i.e. a body damage model that allows more or less damage to different parts of the body, i.e. a head shot does 50 pts damage while a leg shot does 10 and causes limping.
