Hi,
just downloaded the 9Meg`s version of the DBpro demo.
Made a simple 4-Leg Robot with Bones and walk animation in 3dsMax (Using the SKIN-Mod.).
Loaded the exported .3ds File into dbpro and tryed to loop the animation data....
but NOTHING!! happens.
Converted it to .x. Same Result!!
So i thought- maybe i did something wrong. So i just used a .mdl file from CS. Same Effekt!!
The Scorpion from the Room-Demo (old DB) works pretty well.

Q: Can it be that the 9Meg-Demo version got some probs with mesh deformation??? (and .BSP support and so on)

Please tell me that the full version handle all thouse stuff!!!!! (couse realy nead to compile som progs)

C.U.

Professional demo has some notorious bugs within it...
won't load MD2/MD3 without crashing
won't animate (half-life) MDLs

however 3DS doesn't support the skinned mesh modifier, and the DirectX Exporters are jittery at best.
if you export an animation i'd do so to Half-Life smd and then load within Milkshape and export with JTs DirectX exporter

I've had this same problem, not exactly a selling point for dark basic. If it can't load .x skinned mesh, I don't think it's worth buying.

Are you sure you are using the good .X exporter ???

DOn't rely on the 'Conv3ds.exe' converter, bundled with DB : it's only DX7, so won't support skinned meshes.

Grab the 3DS 'DX8.1 Exporter', supports skinned meshes, and textures ... ( if it's a recompiled version ): it should found on some DB dedicated site .

Or use the Panda DX Exporter for Max : http://www.pandasoft.demon.co.uk/directxmax4.htm

Ahm...
hay Kohai.

I tried different *.MDL Models and none of them moved anything.
Maybe some1 send me a simple model (i.e. Cylinder with 3-Bones in it or something...) that he made shure it works with DBpro.
I`m confident that this way i can figure out if it works in the 9Meg-Demo or not.

B.T.W. Somehow the UV-Coordinates are ignorated.
Model remains white after Texturing.(Same Model in DB-Classic Looks pretty fine.)
