if each level is a different exe, then have dbpro keep track of which exe was played last and have it resume there.

yes ill check that out i guess, bt i cant see it solving the problem as if you ur launcher runs the executable that dusnt mean they have completed the level it jus means it has been run before so thaey can still cheat in the same way you run level one close it and it cna either resume from level one (whether you have completed the level or not) or it can load the next one which means the user can get to the next level whether they have done the previous one or not still if it keeps track of wat executable was run last it dusnt help the situation cus thta dusnt prove thta have coompleted the level just thta they havce run it

Thanks

they have to complete the level to go to the next one...other wise they have to replay the last one.

yes bt how do u make dbpro nt let them go to the next level unless they have completed it? instead of just close the exe that is that game level? plz tell me i nt meaning this as an argument bt cna u explain because what im syaing is that i cnat see a way for dbpro to know if they have completed the level or have jus closed the program

Thanks

ok, in my game, each level is a different game exe...so it just resumes with the last level or exe which it left off at.

im working with dbpro too...why dont we make a script together and both use it?

if u mean me ill work wid u sure, im break my question right down now yes i understand u have different exes for each level, dbpro runs them in order, so how does dbpro know when to run the next exe?, to matinuker if you got a game over you would be taken back to the star of the level you left off at because thta would be the currently running exe

Thanks

@Storm 6000:

I'm not going to lie to you, I skipped over 90% of what you asked. I am quite confused on what you are trying to accomplish. I REALLY hope this is not about a in game "Load/Save" game routine since obviously you cannot do it until the Source Code is released.

Could you please retry and explain your issue and I will do my best to answer it.

Thanks!

P.S.
Try and use a spell checker please so I don't have to decipher words.

i am sorry for the poor spelling lol i typed that in 5 seconds flat because the computer i woz using woznt mine and i had to move quick, yes im afraid the issue was to do with using saving and loading, i was plannin to use darkbasic like many others and got so far but have run into the problem thta dbpro just dusnt know the correct time to load the next level exe so like you say i will have to wait for the source code

Thanks

ya its simple...i had the answer to this a long time ago.

go to the menu fpi file fro your game...replace it with state=0:loadgame...so when the exe starts, it goes to the loading screen...if they have a game over...you start from checkpoints, but if you die 3 times (or run out of lives) then you start over...

@Storm 6000:

Yeah, it is best to wait until the Source Code is released. I personally am adding about 35 new features to the code itself (a lot has to do with terrain, but keep that quiet!) as well as "Instant Save" points, Menu to Choose which Save Point to Load, Transparent 3D Menus, Particle Beam Weapons, Smoke Trails on Missiles, Plasma Grenades, Landminds, Laser Sights, FASTER loading, just to name a few.

I'm giving it away free once I am done.

The source code changes are under the codename "Riker 9". People will be able to download the new source build and hopefully it should work with the FPSC program. You use the FPSC as normal, putting your land mines, weapons, etc (terrain.... ehehehehe) how you want and the FPSC will build it for you.
