I think it would be great if these forums got a counter telling how many members is currently logged on to the forum.

What do you other guys think?

They could have like a buddy list or something where you could add people, see who was currently logged on and see what their latest post(s) were. Things like that.

I know these forums are known for their speed, and somrthing like that would slow it down.

Ever wondered why signatures are encoded into message bodies instead of dynamically generated? I think it's because otherwise there'd be too many queries on a page.

Buddy list, etc are all planned. Features will creep out slowley here (like I'll activate the edit feature shortly for example) but that is on the list.

Cheers,

the best kind of members online that is ever made is called "who's online" where it lists the name of each visitor in the forum, Guest if they are not registered, and what part of the forums they are looking at. If they are replying, it says "replying to thread: asdf" or "viewing dark basic forum" of "editing profile" and it worked great too. Thats what we need.
