err...well its some sort of filetype if you go export in gmax the only one it will do is p3d.

Hehe. I think someone is trying to use GMAX as a free modeler insted of buying Max...

What would be the point of giving GMAX away free if it allowed different file formats to be used with other models?

I will take a quick look around but I really doubt your going to find any P3D to anything.

there is a plugin that converts gmax models to a usable format (quake III .md3) that can be imported to milkshape then exported to work with DB ....

google it... but you would need milkshape or another program that accepts .md3 format that can export to .x (or any other DB acceptable formats)

lucky for us they didn't count on the community to fill in the gaps... or did they?

gmax format is .gmax, what the hell pack uses p3d?

.p3d is Discreets Plasma file format so I suppose you'd have to buy
'Plasma' to use it.
