I would...but my Maya .x files don't work, at all. I don't know what the deal is. But diagonal would be nice.

Try converting your .x files outside of Maya or saving out as 3DS then converting those to .x files - that may help.

If you are unable to get a diagonal segment to work correctly - you can always use a static entity for diagonal needs - used in appropriate circumstances it can work well and there need be no visual difference between a segment wall and one placed as an enity.
