Hi guys
i have created a game engine thing for a game i call impulse. it is much like psy-ops if you know that. Any way i now need some levels for it. I am a programmer and so i am way out of my depth if i think i can make any levels. So if some people would like to help that would be great. I have a demo working but at the moment i have no where to upload. if you can think out a way i will gladly send you it before you do any levels. I have made a sort of level editor, in that you need to make the level in a 3d modeller then import the model in to the editor. Then you can place start and end points in, enemy patrols and blocks. Oh the levels do not have to be complex because it helps if more detail is put in to the blocks. See the level itself the player can not move, for obvious reasons, but if the detail and complexity is in the objects then the player has alot more to play around with. If you are interested post back here.

cheers

What format would the levels be in? Could I see some screen shots of your game? A good place to host it would be www.fileplanet.com
They have free hosting.

Explain to me why some people pay money for 3d software? Its not 3d till its been blended. wwww.blender3d.org

Here are some screens.

The game is called Impulse because you play a ex soldier who was experimented on and now has different powers at the moment these are
Make an explosion any where
Freeze a selected area stopping any bullets enemy with in the area
Telekinsis : pick up an object other than the level.
Fire projectiles
Make an impassible shield around you
with these power you must battle through different levels as you try to find out what happened in the test labs 10 years ago.

that the basic blurb

any way screens

these are of the level editor

Hey cool! I might be able to make some levels but what format do they have to be in? What should the levels be like? How big should they be? Whats the poly limit? Modellers need some basic information before they can produce anything of quality. For example if I wanted to put a ladder in the level, I have to know if you are planning on coding ladder climbing in.

For stuff like ladders, the game runs on the xcol code from the forums so it is based on the gradients. Format, .x or .3ds both will load, in the level editor you start with a block the size of the player to get your sizes. For size of level at the moment its running on the xcol level(not very good) and i get 70 fps so theres room for alot more polys. But as i said earlier try to keep the levels simple and add in detail with other modelled object, may be not ladders and stuff but an example would be rather than a ladder make them use telekensis to pile of block to get up. Also there a feature on the demo to let to play test any level in the levels folder.

cheers
