First of all, I applogize to everyone clicking this thread hoping to find a textureing tutorial. One will be created, but not quite yet.
I've been asked a lot about textures lately, and even though I dont feel skilled enough to really tell people about what to do, I'm gonna make one anyway to atleast show one way of doing it.

I have a tight scedule however and therefor I'm gonna ask a favour of the people here to provide me with a model and a UVmap. This should prefearably a character of some kind.

This is not the first one to the mill though, I need one that looks interesting to texture from a subjective view, being my own.
The model dont need to be new, but better if previously not textured.. and even better if its to be used in a project.

A bit about the tutorial:
It will be a video tutorial with voice commentary to describe whats being done. If its a large texture, I will part the tutorial into multiple files, one to cover each major area.
A tablet will be used, and is recommended for this type of rexturing, but can somewhat be done without using a bit more time.
I will be using Gimp2.0win if possible, so you will learn to use a free alternative.

So if there is interest, tell me so and if you've got a model, please post a mesh screen and a wireframe one.

Thanks for reading.

Oh! Oh!

would a pirate be fun?

you'd have to wait a week or so for me to model him though

I'm sure that would do nicely. I tried looking up some of your previous work but didnt find any. If you have any characters done previously I would love to see them.

I would have thought there to be more interest in this, I guess there isnt.

yeah... ummm... well i haven't made many characters... (a grand total of 2)

and i can't find the meshes of them...

but since i have to make him for a game anyway i'll make him and show him to you, if you don't want to use him then that's perfectly fine, i was planning on texturing him myself before you posted this, so it doesn't matter either way

in other words, pretend i don't exist and try to get somebody else to do it... but if i finish before you find somebody, and you like the model then you can use it

[edit] here's the first character i did...(i know you can't see him very well but i don't have the original model any more )

Don't quit Jonny. They're just trying to crush your artistic spirit.
It is their way.

but since i decided to go cartoony and he has to be finished by the end of this week (along with another model) i don't expect you to use him for the texturing thing

Right now they are in Milkshape but I could convert to another format if you needed...
