Over the last few days I've been updating my new web site at http://www.computechtenerife.com and including some of the old matedit.com Dark Basic support pages.

It's still not finished yet, but I think it now has enough content to make it worth mentioning you take a look. It's mainly aimed at newcomers, but intermediate level DB coders might find some of the stuff there useful.

I've made most of the old MatEdit.com downloads available, and added some more beginners tutorials to those that were already there - including a series for people who have never programmed before or who are very new to DB.

There's now a new 'Code Hints' section which covers some nice little hints and tips including screen fading, camera control and faster colours - which might be of interest to those of you who would not class yourselves as 'newbies' any more but haven't yet learnt all those little tricks you pick up over time...

It's primarily a DBC oriented site, but most of the coding stuff applies equally to DBPro too.

In the next few days I will be adding to the Utilities section.

Please feel free to check it out and let me know if there are any topics not there that you would like to see covered.

Comments welcome.

Tdk actually has screenshots of all his games and very long description s of them and their history. Very nice site tdk.
He has some extreaml usefull code snippets there. Would recommend it t for any one.

tdk on a lighter note: I could not get your scroll bar function to work in my source i tried the include also tried copying the function directly into my program. just get a blank screen. however it does pop up an ok box when i hit escape.

Like smerf says, there are already screenshots there. I've a few more to add yet and will be doing so over the next few days.

It's a DBC function. Are you by any chance using DBPro? If so, that might be the reason you are having problems.

I've posted my text scrolling box function in your post on the Newcomers board which might have solved your problem. If not, let me know and I'll look at converting the other one to DBP for you.

Peter_:

What screen rez are you using? The site is designed for use in 1024x768 but I spent a while the other day making it as 800x600 compatible as I could.

If you have a mouse wheel, click in the centre of the screen and use the wheel to scroll down to the links you can't see. It might work also if you click on the screen and use the cursor down key, but not sure about that.

1024*768...

for no good reason i can now get to the "Dark Basic Support and Matedit website"

(it shows up as a link)

and i can see the link for "http://www.computechtenerife.com/ct.htm"
though it just takes me to a site with a chopped off header...

doesn't matter though, i can get to the important site now

Good news - otherwise I would have had a serious problem on my hands!

The Computech Tenerife side is for customers of mine here in Tenerife, so I left that one till last - hence the dead links. I've not advertised the URL for that yet.
