Im making a game simular to subspace but top down 3d but Im having a prob with this hardpoint placement function. As I turn the ship and fire the hardpoint moves in an elipical way from left to right. also the odd thing is if I increase the value of hpx# instead of moving more to the left or right of the center of the ship it lengthens the elipical orbit.

I know my trig is horrible

I think it would be easier to create limbs on the base object and use those as hardpoints to glue additional objects to.This way the glued objects will share movement and rotation with the base object until unglued. This is assuming your using DBPro.I`m not sure the commands exist in DB.

You can glue objects and add limbs in DBC.

no limbs and no ezrotate :p
The game is designed that the array data of the ship and future ships that will be added in by means of editing a text file.

besides this is more of a trig question than principals of which method is better. I know theres something I forgot that is making it orbit in a elipical way instead of circular.
