How do I raise or lower sections of a matrix? I am making a strategy rpg and the playing field will be a chess board with some of the sections of the matrix raised and some lowered.

Umm, one, this is the wrong board. You want the Dark Basic Professional board, not the 3D Chat Board.

Two, you should look at some tutorials or buy that book that teaches people how to use Dark Basic.

Here is to get you started:
Set Matrix Height raises and\or lowers a tile of a matrix by the amount you set.
Control Camera Using ArrowKeys lets you move around the world with the arrowkeys.

You may want to also check out MatEdit or my map editor, Map Edit, which is on my website.
