What is the best language to use to make online browser based games like alot of those MMORPG's out there?

Any help would be great!

Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic Script, PHP

In order from best to worst. PHP is not really "instant" by the gamer's standard.

If that order is from best to worst you totally have VBS and PHP the wrong way around!

Also I'd add Flash to the list (with a nice SQL backend) somewhere at the front.

Cheers,

Rich

ya, flash definately, unless you didn't want graphics so much as text but... why???

Then SQL is a sorta MUST HAVE.

PHP is fine for non-instant games, but otherwise java.

Or, you could use a simple client made in C++, DB, DBP, VB etc instead of using a browser...

flash development owns when it comes to export times and development speeds.

OOP vector instances or imported media.

swf exe and macintosh app in one foul swoop.

backend anything u want,regardless.

www.flashkit.com

the best site for flash references.
