Greetings

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, although I think it might prove helpful.

I'm having a hard time finding a 3D animator to work with us. I've spoke with people that model and texture, but no animation.

In the meantime I explored Character Shop for a while and I was wondering, since I can get 3D artists, is it possible to use the Character Shop animations with FPSC since all animated entities will be humanoid?

Thank you in advance for your help

nope... you need character studio that comes with 3ds max.... so.... go out, like r. davey said, and buy a $3000 box with a cd and make a few animations

You should be able to import them since CS was designed to work with DPPro I think. It exports .x files.

The problem is FPSC uses a specific bone called FIREBONE for holding weapons, which CS doesn't have (it was made before FPSC).

This is only a problem for characters that use weapons.

If you read the stickied post in the models and media section about the bip files you'll see what I mean.

However, since it exports .x files, you may be able to export it into Fragmotion or Milkshape and add the bone there.

You could also go to the Cartography Shop forum and ask the guy who made it. It's a cool program. It would be nice to know.

If you want to use the bip files you need Character Studio and Max.

With the release of the milkshape files, it should theoretically be possible to bring a character into FPSC using milkshape. Theoretically.

Someone mentioned Character Shop in Rich's thread, but was mistaking it for Character Studio. This is a different, but related, question.

My head hurts.
