no particles in dbc xeno....

but gowmars theres another way (I cant test this today, ill check it tomorrow)

you can make a cloud texture or make one out of a skybox side (just make sure it's nice and big so that the tiling isn't too brutally evident) then make a big plain over ur level and texture it with your cloud pic. put it way up high but not so high it tiles alot or you can really see the edges, and point it down.

if ur using cartography shop, just load your level again, ***save it as somethign like sky.csm***, then make a big wall and rotate it and expand it so its way over your level, then delete every other object. then you can load sky.x when u export it, texture object [sky.x],[sky texture], just make sure your deleting everything else from your sky map, not the normal one

in your loop, put scroll object texture [your plain's number],0.01 or so. scrolling the texture 0.01 will make it about the speed of a slow flowing river, and 0.1 will make it about the speed of something falling. make sure you set the texture so the black is transpearent. you may have to use a negative number, or rotate the texture before you scroll it, depending on the wind direction.

hope this works for ya

Unless you're doing a flying game and want clouds to fly through, then you'd need a ghosted low-poly model with a good cloud texture, and do some math (I don't like poly-collision) to check if you're inside the cloud. If you're inside the cloud then you fill the screen with some white fog.

I knew you could use particles, but I dont have pro thats why I asked if there was a way to make it in DBC. Im about ready to just break down and buy DPB so I can use particles and have my engines run faster. Thanks for the help

There's a clouds demo in the code snippets section, coded for DBPro but I think it should work in DBClassic - it's designed to have a massive cloudscape that scrolls really gently, quite a realistic and subtle effect. Tis still on page one, you should try it in DBC.

It sounds like either you didn't see my post, or you didn't read it correctly.

That was NOT for DBPro - it was all DB Classic!

Your posts seem to be invisible/mis-read by most people lately...

I love u tdk. but actually, I'm mad. I finally finished a cool level with a waterfall after several hours of experimenting w/ a little matrix under the scrolling texture that randomizes. I think i'll leave it in when i post my demo.
