This has been mentioned before - either find MSVC71.DLL or wait until its fully released.

Quote: "just a difference i noticed between 5.9 and 5.8, probably due to collision capabilities of DBP.... is the pick object command (havent tried intersect object) dunno if its a bug, o its supposed to be like that"

Post some code, in the Bug Forums and no doubt someone will give an answer.

Haven't tried the PICK OBJECT issue, but it would be a problem...I often use an object to position my camera.

The new official version seems to have the missing dll error to. but like "Moderator" said search for the dll and I did and it worked fine.

Note this dll needs to be in your "WINDOWS\SYSTEM" directory

Dont think DBO stores lightmaps anyway - its an object format, not a world one.

DBO's with lightmaps applied I meant. Gile[s] did it fine until they changed the dbo format again

The lightmaps for dbo are stored in a separate file...a dbu file. I have no idea how you would create them, but FPSC does it.

Wow is there no support for .3DS any more. I had decided to download and now when I try to run one of my programs it says cannot load. Nothing else changed, just the version.

[edit]
Ok and now I'm really mad. I decide I'm gonna go back to 5.8 and guess what? No more 5.8 it has now been replaced with 5.9. Come on!!! There's bugs, it wont load my .3ds and I want to get 5.8 back. It at least felt stable.

5.8 is still there - see the post in the DBPro discussion board.

Have you tried to see if 3DS files are excluded in the compiler file ?

That is correct. Mike has altered the setup.ini file for 5.9 to automatically exclude rarely used conversion dll's. Read about half way down this;

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=62126&b=15

Just alter it and 3ds files will work again (if you're lucky)

Boo!

Can you show me a Bug Report that is closed?

As far as I'm aware Bug Reports always stay open.

@Resourceful
Your life must be boring because you entertain yourself by searching for open threads

I got searching for that info and up pops what is there
