I use gamespace, and the textures created with Photoshop. Using the same method for a low budget, you could easily use milkshape for geometry and Gimp for textures. What am working for by now is to put sound on the terrains.

Does anyone has an example how to use an own terrain in FPSC ?
In other words, which files and format are needed and put in which directory ?

I used a program called Freeworld3D and it is also very good! I made a winter-landscape that looked exactly like Supermans home! Snow and ice-crystals everywere. It was a large map that really shourld have been awesome as a MP game! Many places to hide in thoose enormous mountains! But sadly I courldnt keep the map because I made it in a demo! (as usual )
I was using lightmapping. Can You do that with A.L.E?
By the way its no probs to make a lowpoly landscape. For some maps it looks even cooler! (And You can use Phong smoothing)

yea ALE generate lightmapping, but there's no lights. Only a sunlight that you set the range, position and it generates the lightmapping for teh props (you can place entities) and the terrain.

i will google Freeworld3D to see what it can do.

So did anyone come up with a definative answer on terrain generators?

Such as which is the easiest is to import into FPSC?

I was thinking about purchasing Geoscape3d, since it is availible from the Game Creators and seems to work well with Dark Basic (the core technology of FPSC).

All the ones mentioned here have some really slick features, but which a is realistic tool for getting work done in FPSC?

What I mean is, I don't want to take exported files through three other programs and tweak forty settings before I can load it in FPSC.
