Hi

This is my very first model, made in Cinema 4D.

I know it's simple, but everyone has to start somewhere

Another pic:

Now I'm wondering, how do you model hair???
Or is hair-modeling too complicated for a complete beginner?

But its got style Its a nice simple model for a start. I am in the progress of making Cinema 4D tutorials, but in the meantime, you may find it very useful to visit.

http://www.c4dcafe.com

Its got a lot of good tutorials and support, I'm on there as 'seppuku arts'

and you got

http://www.renderosity.com

I'm on there too as 'seppuku05'

both have good beginner tutorial support and you can discuss tutorials and get advice from forums on both, the people at c4dcafe are really friendly and give good advice at request.

I was thinking of making a rendering tutorial later, something to make flashy renders with, which you could use on your lil friend there

You can either use a hair plugin, but you have to have a powerful PC, or if you are like me, then make a basic hair like mesh and use alpha maps. I will explain it better through tutorial, once its made.

Top stuff Klu, looking really good. Good luck with all your models, how ever many or few you make.

Thanks

I think I'm done with this scene. I can't think of any more to add to it. but please tell me what you think of the water effects, especially the spilled water in the background. I think it looks awkward...

I know what you mean but I can't really explain. I think you either need to have a reflective table or the water reflective, it doesn't look right with them both being refelctive. But I don't know much about modelling, so I might be wrong.

Hehe

Okay I changed the water to a blop. I'm not really sure if you can see it one that little image, but it looks better now. Thanks.

Soapyfish, I'll check out the reflective thingy.
Okay, I've tried to see what would look best. The water looks grey and boring if it isn't reflective, but the table doesn't have to be reflective. I'll post another screenie...

make both reflective, but make the table more faint than the water.
maybe even have some of the water still in the tipped cup
