Ok i gotta learn how to do this, here is my second try. This time I modelled in Blender, imported into Wings, unwrapped it there, textured in GIMP and imported back to Blender. I made this for the space game Oolite but can't figure out how to get it in the game :/. Comments/tips on texturing? (not looking for model critique just a crappy thing done in 5 min) I posted the .x again could someone tell me if it loads in DBPro with textures?

I don't know much about UV mapping, but I can tell you that the model won't load in DBPro.

meh...lemme try it again. Anyone know of a 3ds to .x converter for Mac? I would post a 3ds file but as I remember DBPro doesn't in fact support 3ds despite their claims.

EDIT:
Try this, you will have to download the first one for the texture.

You're supposed to give em good advice.

I don't know any mac convertors, but PC ones are easy to google,

uh search

deep exploration

you never know they may have a mac version, the conversion part of the program only lasts 30 days

The name is back dudes!

Sorry for double post, but I tried using .3ds file in DBPro and that not only loaded w/o crashing but saved the UV coords! This is the .3ds file. Anyway...is the texture acceptable quality? Does anyone have any UVmapping tips for me because i really need some help with it as you can probably see.

Cool, that seems to work. By the way, the 3ds file works perfectly for me and the model is only 94 polies if you wanna use it. I had 50 of them on screen at full anti aliasing and anistropic filtering and I had 80 fps

my friend exports from blender to .obj, then loads it in Milkshape and exports it to .x
