Hey guys,
for my game ChaosZone, i need to texture my models (duh ).
So, i saw the Psionic's zombie tutorial, it helped me a lot for modeling a while ago but i saw fastly the UV Unwrapping, and it's some big pain!

Recently, i tried Ultimate Unwrap3D, and it's the most powerfull Unwrapper i've ever seen! It generates automaticly the UVMap and i can move the Unvwrapped faces as i want! The only thing is, i do not want to pay 50-60$ for this!

My question: Do someone knows a easy unwrapper for free to 20$?

PS: Not Lithunwrap, it's a serious piece of crap.

lol. anyway is this is only way to unwrap models? by buying a 50$ great piece pf software? i know it's nothing compared to 3dsmax, but i need a lot of software for my games, and it's extremly expensive at teh end.

I looked and looked, and Unwrap3D was what I ended up buying. I tried using Lithunwrap also, but after trying Unwrap3D, I ended up shelling out the money for it.

Sorry, not much help for a cheaper one, but after see what Unwrap3D provided, I tried finding others, but none came close to the functionality and usability of Unwrap3D.

Thanks for the comment, that helps me. I tried too to use the demo's preview screen and press "Printscreen" and i after saw that they thinked at everything; they disable Printscreen in the demo and it also disable Fraps

So, nothing to do from the demo...PS: This is not piracy, it's thinking

Blender's mapping is great, if you know what you're doing.

You have to be committed to use it properly, though, because it's a weird program in many ways, and the manual is a bit of a chore to read.

Skalex,

You seem to have a healthy distaste for the free options, you seem like the right person to lay down the law regarding UV mapping. Maybe you could email me and rant a bit about what you'd like to see in UV mapping software and what annoys you the most. I'm writing a modeller and I hate existing UV mapping systems, your input would be appreciated. The UI is kinda set in stone already - it's a 4-view modeller and the UV map is edited in one of the windows while the actual textured results are shown in the render window, so that's already quite handy - but you can imagine that I don't want to rely solely on plain, sphere, and cylinder mapping.

arrrgh ye be right me lad....

Piracy can get you in trouble with the law, so be careful

@Skalex, looks like you're gonna have to fork out extra money or settle with Uvmapper, I've decided to settle with UV mapper and have had no probs

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120...
