1. What is everyone's average exe file size ie. size of say a simple four level game? I ask, due to the fact that I just finish a single level and it broke the scale at 170Megs and I only used one and half layers out of the twenty. (note I used no avi "cut scenes" just 3 small .wav files all around 600k)

2. Is it possible to show a avi during game load? Meaning after you select New Game can an .avi be shown while the game loads in place of the load bar?

Thanx.
Mark

I'm getting about the same. The problem seems to be that when it compiled it includes a lot of files that are not needed.

@ FernandoK

Hmmm... After a quick look in "My Game" folder, there doesn't seem like much I/We can do to remove anything. I had planned to make a 38 level game, but I may have to trim that down some or I might have a 5 cd game on my hands. (lol)

@ PureEvil

Same here, minus the glithes Though I do have a pretty long load time, hench my question about using an .avi in place of the load bar question. (something to help kill the time and set the story line out)

Thanx

Dont worry! My game was 110MB and I used FPSPack to compress it down to 52MB! Pretty good isnt it? By the way Your game CANT be too big. You can always use a DVD, right!?

Good Luck!

Trust everyone...

If you consider that some game resources are used along the several levels, you'll notice that there is no direct proportion between the number of levels and the ammount of data.

Or am I missing something?

it is the amount of media. + 3mb-5mb * no of levels

Merranvo is right once you have the media exportd once it will just use the same file locations for media that are used twice so it wont add that much space usasage with each additional level unless you use alot of different media

Thanks
