Apologies if this is a double post, but after trying to attach last time and it just saying "Done" without my post appearing I'll try hosting the attachment elsewhere...

To get to the point though, I recently downloaded Milkshape to try out modelling for myself, It just doesn't feel right to ask everyone to do it for me every once in a while. I completed one of the tutorials on building a character for Half-life - not very clever as I don't have a copy of half life

I made my own skeleton and then built another very similar character, when trying to animate the skeleton (arms in particular), something weird happens, as well as rotating the assigned vertices, it also moves them out (away from the previous joint) and scales them larger...

The help file doesn't give any help for this problem...

As I'm not the world's best at explaining things, I made a quick video of the problem happening, it would probably give a better idea of what's going wrong, (and perhaps how to fix it) Attaching the video previously was where it seemed to go wrong, so I've hosted it elsewhere (but in a few days I'll take it down again...), it's a bit choppy, bit long as well, but should basically point out my problem...

If anyone knows why this is happening, and could help me fix it, it'd be MUCH appreciated...

Problem Video

PS Right now, I'm not looking for criticism like "You're bending the top of the arm too much" I know this I'll start tweaking once it's all close to being right...

...maybe one day I'll finish a project

Found the answer to this one on the milkshape forums...

If anyone else suffers this problem, then I quote
Quote: "Change the setting of the "Rotate" options from "Global" to "Local""
(From the milkshape forum)

...maybe one day I'll finish a project
