Are you making a killer game?

We are currently looking for original, innovative and unusual games to be published through our own independent game publishing label from indie and home brew developers. We can help with our marketing, promotion, resources and industry experience to make your title become a reality and at the top of the indie market.

We pay great royalties and have an agreement designed to give indie developers the freedom to continue to promote their products.

If you are just using the stock resources of FPS Creator and building a WWII or Sci-Fi game then that is fine too. We are also putting together a "Best of FPS" collection.

If you are interested then please visit our website and register for our new forums giving a little information about yourself so we can get in touch.

http://www.cromwellgames.co.uk/

Cheers,

Phil.

Hi Phil,

I'm not interested really in having a game published, I'm not even going to create really games with FPSC, but something completely different, more like interactive enviroments. Still I think it's a great idea to publish games made with FPSC and even create a "Best of FPS" collection.

I did notice you're going to publish Content Packs and I did look at the pics and sure looks great. Due to nature of the interactive enviroments I'm creating, I'm looking for a number of unarmed characters which we could meet in the regular world. Just people we meet every day on the streets, at work and so on.

I've noticed that the Content Packs show an unarmed women, will there be more of such (men & women even kids perhaps??).

Do you happen to have a run down of what kind of Content Packs you guys will be publishing and a price range for them?

If you can answer any of my questions, that would be great!!!

Thanks,

Benjamin

If I do use FPSC to create a FPS? What's a FPS supposed to be anyway???

@Benjamin

I don't have an exact list of what will be included, but it is basically all the content from the SOS Urban Shadows game we are producing so as this takes place in modern day and in every day places like offices, hotels, a train station etc it will contain loads of new segments, textures and 3d models of everyday items. This will include a fair amount of public characters, exactly what you describe people in the street, or at work.

@Storm 6000

Sounds interesting, I'll contact you off the forums to see what you're up to

@Strom6000 and Lavitz

I know this concern only too well and we have a "reverse NDA" (Non Disclosure Agreement) that we will send to any developers before entering into discussions. This is a legal statement that we will not rip your game ideas or share any information with others without your consent. I'll get one over to you both today.

@PureEvil

Yeah, every thing comes ready to use in FPSC and the terrorist model comes with a gun.

@Daihiey

No, its not dead, just new, it was only opened yesterday :p

Woman, you mean AIKO? She not excactly the person I come accross each day. Besides a woman's proportions and face is slightly different then those of a child. Besides AIKO I don't have any other woman with FPSC.

Yeah, sure, I always intended to make our documents open and available to everyone. So I've uploaded a copy to the download section of our website so now it's publically available. It's not a heavy legally binding contract, just a nice friendly agreement to protect your interests and a public declaration that we won't swipe anything you send us.

Cheers,

Phil.

@cromwell games,

Quote: "This means that if you decide to publish through us you will also get treated with the same respect, a 50% of net profit royalty payout and an open publishing agreement that means you can still publish/sell your games elsewhere."

I've seen many publishing agreements (even signed a number of them), but your terms for publishing a game are one of the best. Of course I haven't seen the actual agreement itself, just going by this quote.

The content pack is currently in development, sorry it's taking so long but we're very busy.

"FPS Creator will be released shortly" refers to the product being sold on our site, we are buying the product in bulk and retailing it.

As far as publishing goes, there's a huge amount more to publishing than sticking CD's in boxes. It's an industry we have all worked in for a long time. We have a professional copy writer, web guy, a marketing guru and I myself have been in both the games development industry working for Psygnosis and SONY and also in the publishing and marketing of entertainment software.

We do offer a CD manufacture and these will be good quality commercially produced CD's made by a professional mastering company who have some great technology for producing "on Demand" products but that is a very small part of what a publisher does.

We have years of marketing experience and we will work with you to put together a professional marketing plan and marketing materials such as press releases, screen shots, artwork, demos, shareware versions etc. Then we will send all these materials to relevant websites, businesses, publications and distributors.

We're not going to lay out a full marketing plan here, it would be different for every title anyway, but we have found that directed and targeted exposure works best not just getting in front of as many people as you can.

If a game is big enough, then we will look to push it through stores, magazine cover discs and other distributors but this will be a mainly UK based activity at the moment. We will be expanding once we have enough resources behind us.

We have no guarantees, we can't tell you what will definitely work but we do have an open agreement where you retain intellectual rights to your game so you can always sell elsewhere if you feel we are not doing enough. You retain ownership of the product so we only take a cut of the copies "we" sell.

If this doesn't seem like something you are interested in that's fine, it's your game so you have the choice of who to publish with. If you can do all the marketing, promotion, and production yourself then all the better, you may well make more money doing that.

We're not interested in retailing games that's not the direction we want the company to move in but thanks for the offer.

Good luck with your project, I hope all goes well

Phil.

P.S.

The icon is from a Monty Python party :p I know, we British have a strange sense of humour.

Please tell me you're talking about the original British series rather than the awful version they made in the States?!!?
