1 face slow down a game, even if you don't notice the difference ...
Elaborate your question, 12416 is the whole level + actors + statics ?
What is the minimum config you're aiming for ?

Even then we won't have much detail, because collision check leech power, Ai can be insane too ...

What are you using to improve performance is counting too ...

i made an object as a level , and its 12416 , im just asking if it will make people think (man this is slow) too much or not . And i know it helps alot with sync , but is there anyother way ? Ive managed to get it down to 3104 faces now .

For me, 12k for a level is good.
I ran a level with advanced terrain(30k polygons), 20 animated npc(1k polygon each), some buildings, Newton physic running, some simple Ai, shooting collision test ect ... I began to see fps drop down near 60k polygons drawn.

This was whithout any optimization.

as posted earlier - it really depends on your system specs, and the minimum specs the game is designed for...

Obviously supercomputers (real ones, not just really good PCs) will have no problems at all...

...maybe one day I'll finish a project

Even if you got a level with 12416 faces that
doesn't mean that the player will see all the level
you can split it to smaller parts and just swicth
between the parts everytime that the player will reach to
a certain point. I can't help you program this since I have
no idea how to program in DBC\DBPro.

Funny?

I've been working on several projects on and off for like 2 years now... not finished any of them

Everyone says start off low, now I know why. I decided to throw myself in with an FPS to start off with - not clever, but I don't wanna put it on hold or I'll just forget about it, like all the others I started... Take it from me... Always start with pong!

ok , my first project is a first person 3d puzzle game . Im 45% done with it , when i started pong , i couldnt even exceed the 30% , because its idea was too dull . If you a good idea , it should convince you enough till its done , then when u see players playing your games , it will convince you to continue and so on ..

Interview a gamer and ask him what he likes to see in a new game / go to one of your gamer friend's houses and observe him while he plays the game , even play with him , and ask hi why or what he enjoys about the game . Then make your game according to what he says . If his favourite is doom 3 , dont drop dead on the floor , its just the graphics and old classical music played in reverse that makes it good . But if you look at the game's concept , or the game's design theory of it , its simply
" hit the monster and run " . Think about it .

12k polygons for a model is just too much. It would work, no doubt, but the slowdown would be too much. And, for far fewer, you could have quality just about as good.

Are you able to reduce? If you can't, I can do it for you.

i cant reduce , i accidentally saved the model . Now i cant un-smooth it . So it would be grea if you can reduce it . I can also send you a texture if you can texture it for me , or just help me export it to .x so i can texture it myself in dbp . So should i send you the model , or is there a program i must get ?

Just e-mail it to me. I'll reduce it to a couple of different polygon counts and I'll send them all to you. I'll also export it to a couple of different formats for you, including DBO and .X.
